Antoon De Baets

At its 2025 General Assembly on 10 July 2025, the Swiss History Society (SGG) awarded the «lapis animosus» prize for freedom of research to Prof. em. Dr. Antoon De Baets (University of Groningen), founder of the Network of Concerned Historians.
With the «lapis animosus» award, the SGG honours individuals, projects and initiatives that have made a special contribution to promoting freedom of research in historical studies.
