The Swiss Open Cultural Data Hackathon will take place from 5 to 7 September in Luzern.
It is the 10th edition of this annual collaborative event that brings together software developers, collection curators, digital humanists, artists, Wikipedians, and other enthusiasts to work in teams for two days on cultural data sets provided by cultural heritage institutions. The results will be presented in a public plenary session on Saturday afternoon. The video gallery 10 Years of GLAMHack Projects gives an idea of the types of projects that have been produced in previous editions.
Under the theme “On the Move”, GLAMhack24 aims to trace the movements of individuals to and from Switzerland and beyond, and to capture the traces they leave in cultural heritage collections such as images and letters. This year there will be also an additional workshop on Thursday afternoon followed by a social programme on Thursday evening. See the full programme for more details.
Participation is free, and includes meals. Accommodation can also be arranged. Register now for the GLAMHack24 Anniversary Edition.
