Debjani Bhattacharyya: "Climate Ledgers: Underwriting Cyclones in the Indian Ocean 1770-1850"

Public Lecture and Workshop with Debjani Bhattacharyya, Professor of History of the Anthropocene at the University of Zurich. The doctoral programme "Regimes of Inequality – Past and Present" welcomes Professor Debjani Bhattacharyya for a public lecture and workshop at the University of Fribourg on 30 and 31 March. The issue of inequality will be approached through the lens of climate change, environmental transformation and global history. Doctoral students are invited to an in-depth exchange with the guest speaker during which we will discuss a selection of key texts. Debjani Bhattacharyya will also take the time to comment on your doctoral research if you would like to present a paper. Please submit your application by 1 March.
