the International Conference “Data Ethics for Historical research in a Digital Era: Critical reflections and best practices” (10-12 November 2025, Mainz, Germany) organized by the Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG), in cooperation with NFDI 4Memory and the Academy of Sciences and Literature Mainz, seeks to examine the ethical dimensions of data usage within historical research, fostering discussions among scholars to provide practical tools and strategies to navigate these challenges.
We invite interested scholars to submit proposals in the form of abstracts (500 or 750 words, depending on the type of submission).
