(Re)encountering the Sources

6. October 2022 bis 7. October 2022
Conference
Sources are at the heart of the historian's daily work. The founding of the Department of History in the 1870s was itself one outcome of a sustained focus on sources in historical research and teaching, which is still characterizing historical work today under constantly changing conditions. The trans-epochal conference is dedicated to the topic of sources and source work. In five sections and a keynote, historical perspectives on the work on sources are linked with the challenges of the present and the future. The focus will be on practical and political questions of making source material accessible and researching it against the background of the material, global and digital turn. Program 6.
