The Digital History Network Switzerland was founded in spring 2023. Its aim is to promote the visibility of digital history and to network people from academic and memory institutions as well as other actors in this field. The network aims to facilitate exchange between experts and provide an information platform for all interested parties.
Our Logo
Our logo is made from the official color codes (Standesfarben) of the Swiss Confederation and its twenty-six cantons, read from left to right and in alphabetical order. With a wink to digital barcodes and roots in ancient heraldry, the logo exemplifies the continuity and transformation of traditions into to modern world.

What is this network?
For the moment, it is an informal network, founded in spring 2023 by a dozen researchers and professionals interested in digital history and active in cultural and research institutions in Switzerland.
Network members meet 1-3 times a year in plenary session to plan and organise their activities. At present, the network also has two working groups, one devoted to its Mailing List, and the other to its internal organisation (logo, organisation, funding).
The network also has a web server, www.digitalhistorynetwork.ch, on which its mailing list is hosted. For the moment, the URL of the web server redirects to this page.

What is a mailing list?
A mailing list, or discussion list, is an e-mail application which allows a group to exchange messages by e-mail. Subscribers to the mailing list can send messages to the list's e-mail address. From there, the e-mail is automatically forwarded to all the members of the group. They form a closed group that exchanges information. Within the group, e-mails are public.

The Digital History Network Switzerland mailing list is a forum for the exchange of information on digital history in the broadest sense. Messages may fall into one of the following categories:

- Questions (about methods, programmes, research themes, etc.)

Where is the archive of the mailing list?
The archive can be accessed directly on the mailing list hosting server. You must be subscribed to the mailing list to be able to consult the archives.
