Women's Work and Social Change: The Case of Ethiopian Civil Servant Women 1941-2003.

This study tracing the history of women in government over half a century and through three political regimes intends to examine the change or absence of change in women's socio-economic status. The research holds economic and social change jointly and uses them to analyze the role and status of women in the civil service in Ethiopia from 1941-2003. The research examines how the entry of women into the labor force became possible and focuses on the social impacts of such change.
