Laura Lee Downs: Public Lecture & Workshop on Women's and Gender History

The doctoral programme Regimes of Inequality–Past and Present welcomes Laura Lee Downs, Professor of Gender History at the European University Institute, to Fribourg on 25 April 2024. She will give a public lecture entitled "When Social Welfare Becomes a Bordering Practice: Women's Social Action in Italy's Northeastern Borderlands, 1919-1939". Afterwards, members of the doctoral programme are invited to a workshop in which we will discuss aspects of inequality from the perspective of gender and women's history.
