Abstract

The turn into the 1970s witnessed an increased number of women of African, Caribbean, and South Asian descent organizing for their rights. By examining five key areas of intervention- virginity testing practices, forced sterilization, Black women's centers, female circumcision legislation, and family policin- this project reveals how these groups developed distinctive SRH frameworks that challenged State violence and mainstream feminist agendas
