The eighth Swiss Open Cultural Data Hackathon took place on 4-5 november, 2022. It was organised by the OpenGLAM.ch working group and hostet by the Scuola universitaria professionale della Svizzera italiana (SUPSI) in Mendrisio.
As every year, programmers, representatives of cultural institutions, humanities scholars, artists, Wikipedians and other interested people came together to experiment with open data and create interesting prototypes in a very short time.
These prototypes offer, for example, an innovative way to listen to gramophone recordings, an augmented reality web app to discover mountain peaks in the surrounding area, or a tool to recognize text from labels in the ETH Zurich herbarium using machine learning.
The presentations of the projects created over the two days can be viewed on our reporting page.
