This year, the anniversary year of women’s suffrage in Switzerland, the Swiss Network of Female Historians would like to provide a space for discussion around the status of women* both in the field of history and in Swiss historiography itself. Where do we stand in the fight against all kinds of discrimination fifty years after political equality, and what needs to be improved ? With this survey, we would like to take up and extend previous discussions around these issues, such as recent ones on the occassion of the feminist strike of 2019 (see e.g. the demands formulated by Peter-Paul Bänziger, Francesca Falk, Alix Heiniger, Pauline Milani and Regina Wecker in the Swiss Journal of History).
What will we do with your answers? We plan to publish an overview of the results from the survey on our blog, which will feature excerpts from some of the answers. The ideas collected here will also provide the basis for multiple events in December 2021 and January 2022, at which we seek to launch a broader conversation on these questions and discuss possible solutions. It is also possible to write a contribution for our blog based on one or a few of your answers to our questions . You can decide whether to remain anonymous or provide your contact details for us to get in touch with you. Your data will only be used within the framework of this survey and not passed on to anyone.
