The Network of Concerned Historians Awarded at the Swiss Historical Congress

Antoon De Baets (Groningen), founder and editor of the Network of Concerned Historians, received the Lapis Animosus Award during the Swiss History Days 2025 in Lucerne. With this award, the Swiss Historical Society honours individuals, projects and initiatives that are actively committed to promoting freedom of research in the field of history.

The Concerned Historians Network, founded in 1995, documents attacks against history and historians at the international level. The 2024 annual report provides an overview of conflicts surrounding historical and memory issues in 111 countries, by listing political decisions, court rulings and reports on civil society initiatives for each country..
