60 years ago, on July 21, 1954, after extensive talks in Geneva the armistice agreement to end the Indochina conflict was signed. This international conference on Swiss soil allowed the Federal Council to receive high-ranking statesmen from all around the world «I would never have thought» said foreign minister Max Petitpierre, «we would welcome in the Federal Palace» (dodis.ch/32116, original in French)
