A new function on e-manuscripta.ch, the platform for digitised Swiss manuscripts, allows you to transcribe texts yourself. Mit diesem Crowdsourcing-Projekt gehen die drei Initianten ETH-Bibliothek, UB Basel und ZB Zürich einen wichtigen Schritt auf dem Weg zur Sichtbarkeit wertvoller Objekte und Medien.This crowdsourcing project by the platform's three founding institutions, the ETH Library, the UB Basel and the Zentralbibliothek Zürich, represents an important step forward towards improved discovery for valuable objects and documents.
This transcription project is open to anyone who is interested, thus enabling the public to make an important contribution to research using historical sources. Participation is very straightforward: log on to www.e-manuscripta.ch, select your document, transcribe a page and save your work. Your transcription will then be checked by an editorial team, if necessary returned to you for any correc- tions, and then released by the institution that holds the title.
