Abstract

This dissertation deals with the issue of integrating Hong Kong and argues that the handing over of the territory to the mainland in July 1997, is actually a formality of an ongoing integration process that has been evolving since 1979.; catpub97; geudbu/11.1997; Through examining the main issues of the political and economic aspects of the integration process, the author has unveiled that China, in fact, didn't have any pre-planned strategy for the integration of Hong Kong; it only gradually took shape as she was forced with the events, situations, etc...; catpub97; geudbu/11.1997; Meanwhile, through exploring the island's own integration pattern, the author has built a tentative model for Hong Kong's integration, and underlined the model's uniqueness.; catpub97; geudbu/11.1997
