CfP: Swiss Open Academic Data (SOAD) Day

18. May 2026
Call for papers

We are excited to announce the second Swiss Open Academic Data (SOAD) Day, taking place on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, at EPFL (Lausanne). This event will bring together researchers and practitioners active in Switzerland to explore Open Academic Data: how to use it, share best practices, and strengthen a national community around it.

In our understanding, Open Academic Data is data about research and includes metadata on research outputs such as publications, research data and software, as well as data on funding and grants. Open sources include platforms such as OpenAlex, OpenAIRE, ORCID, Crossref, and ETER, among others. Whether you work with these datasets directly or are interested in leveraging them for research and innovation, this event is for you.

Use this form to submit your proposal for contribution. If you have several proposals, feel free to submit the form multiple times.

This year, the morning will be dedicated to exchange around tools, projects, results and initiatives around Open Academic Data through a keynote presentation, a few lightning talks and a poster session, and the afternoon will consist in a hackathon. You are welcome to contribute through a lightning talk or a poster. You may indicate your preference, but please note that the number of lightning talk slots is limited, and we will not be able to offer a lightning talk to everyone who requests one. The selection committee will review all submissions and decide whether each contribution is best presented as a lightning talk or a poster.

Submission deadline: Sunday, 18 May 2026

We look forward to your ideas and to building a thriving Open Academic Data community together.
