Call for Contributions: Research on Higher Education and Science in Switzerland

Following the first workshop « Research on Higher Education and Science in Switzerland » which took place the 2nd and 3d of September 2019 at the University of Bern, the Observatory Science, Politics and Society of the University of Lausanne proposes to host a 2nd workshop on the same topic. The aim of this second workshop is twofold: to bring together researchers working on these topics in the various Swiss HEI’s, scientific organizations and administrations to develop a state of the art of current research implemented in Switzerland, and to discuss further the potential development of the institutionalization of research on HE and Science in Switzerland. Research on Higher Education and Science has become a hot topic in Europe both politically and scientifically, with a wide range of disciplines involved (Sociology, Political Sciences, Pedagogy, Education sciences….), and number of research going from the governance of universities, the academic profession, the role of science in society, etc. Still, the lack of integration of the Swiss Higher Education makes it difficult to obtain a general overview of what is being researched. Paper proposals (exclusively in English) should be submitted via this form, by 31 March 2020. They should include the name and contact details (email address and affiliation) of the proposer, the title of the proposal and an abstract of no more than 250 words.
