Milk and Modernity in Colonial India: 1890-1940

This PTD report presents the questions, methods, sources and the literature read so far for the doctoral thesis. It preempts the challenges which might be faced when assembling sources and presents potential solutions. The key themes covered are commodification of the cow's milk and colonial science's role in dairying. The PTD brings together the research done and charts the future course of action especially in terms of presenting a chapter outline and timeline for the final thesis submission.
