Swiss Household Panel (SHP)

The principal aim of the Swiss Household Panel (SHP) conducted by the Fondation suisse pour la recherche en sciences sociales (FORS) is to observe social change, in particular the dynamics of changing living conditions in the population of Switzerland.

Currently, the members of the research network Living in Switzerland are analyzing data on a variety of topics: types of households and families, poverty, health, living conditions of elderly people, living conditions of first and second generation immigrants, political participation and life satisfaction, etc.

Selects - Swiss Electoral Studies

Selects is an electoral research project of several political science departments of Swiss universities that started in 1995. Thanks to Selects electoral studies in Switzerland have has reached a high level of continuity. It has also been possible to constantly include innovative new research questions.

Since the project’s start in 1995, electoral studies in Switzerland have reached a high level of continuity while constantly including innovative new research questions.

The Selects project created a series of datasets allowing long term comparison. The studies and data are available online.

DARIS - Data and Research Information Services of FORS

The Data and Research Information Services DARIS of the Swiss Foundation for Research in Social Sciences (FORS) serves as a national resource center for research and teaching in the social sciences.

The unit maintains a comprehensive and up-to-date inventory of social science research projects in Switzerland.

In addition, the Data Services Archive Section is responsible for acquiring, processing, storing, and disseminating significant data files and metadata produced in the country.

The data can be researched by the means of a an online data catalogue.
