Swiss Research Portal

The is a joint portal between several Swiss universities as well as the ETH Zurich. It connects research data of each university and of the ETH Zurich on a common interface. This enables to simultaneously search for research projects in all databases.

ARAMIS information system of the Swiss Federal Administration

The ARAMIS information system contains information regarding research, development and evaluation projects of the Swiss Federal Administration.

It is intended, Government and Parliament willing, to provide information to interested parties about the research projects funded or implemented by the Swiss Confederation, as well as to improve coordination and establish transparency.

ARAMIS is equipped with a search engine that can be used to search for all public projects in the ARAMIS database.

Project database of the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF)

This data base contains the research projects and other subsidies in all disciplines supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) since 1975.

A search engine allows a detailed search of the database contents (it is also possible to limit the search to historical subjects).

Database by the ICRC on the international humanitarian law

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) offers a database with documents about the international humanitarian law. This contains treaties and other texts from 1856 to the present.

Additionnally, there are comments on the four Geneva Conventions and the two additional protocols of 1977 as well as information on the current situation of the ratification, implementing or to reservations of single states.

The database can be displayed in thematical, chronological or geographical order and there is a search engine.

Helveticat - Online Catalogue of the Swiss National Library

Helveticat is the online catalogue (OPAC) of the Swiss National Library (NL). This online catalogue lists all monographs, music scores, microforms, multimedia, maps, atlases, newspapers, periodicals and annuals, as well as a number of periodicals collected at the NL.

Helveticat is also accessible via CHVK (Swiss Virtual Catalogue).

Swiss Poster Collection

The Swiss Poster Collection contains posters created by Swiss and foreign graphic artists. It proposes pictorial records of Swiss and European culture from the end of the 19th century to the present in various domains, notably tourism, exhibits, advertisement, cultural events, sports and politics.

The posters described in the catalogue are held in the collections of the Swiss National Library (NL), the Library of Geneva (BGE), the Wallis Mediathek, and the Museum of transports Luzern.

State Archives Zug - Online catalogue of the archive library

In the online catalogue can be accessed all titles of the scientific archive library of the State Archives Zug.

NEBIS - Network of Libraries and Information Centers in Switzerland

About 150 libraries of universities, universities of applied sciences and arts, and research institutes, as well as specialist libraries, in all the language regions, have joined to form the Network of Libraries and Information Facilities in Switzerland, Netzwerk von Bibliotheken und Informationsstellen in der Schweiz (NEBIS).

Diplomatic Documents of Switzerland (DDS) - Database Dodis

Dodis is the online database of the Diplomatic Documents of Switzerland (DDS). It contains comprehensive information about documents, people, organisations, geographic names and bibliographical references concerning the foreign-policy of Switzerland.

The DDS are a research project aiming to edit key documents on Swiss foreign relations. The DDS provide researchers and practitioners with official sources in printed and digitalised form which are necessary to reconstruct and gain an understanding of the history of Swiss foreign policy.

Dodis - in addition to the printed edition - allows for free access to a large number of digitalised documents. Moreover, it contains a vast amount of information on people (Swiss and foreign) and organisations that were active in the field of foreign policy.
