The Archives of Contemporary History promotes historical research in Switzerland. Since 1974 it is part of the Institute of History of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) Zurich.

Private papers and institutional archives, sources from foreign archives (microfilms, microfiches), audio-visual records (memories and recollections of contemporary witnesses), reference library, collection of master's theses and term papers, documentations and collections: documentations of newspaper clippings of the NZZ editorial office (1924-1985), wf - Documentation (1943-1993), AfZ-Documentation on Swiss Politics (beginning 1967), JUNA - Documentation (Jewish Press Agency) (1936-1970), Collection History (among others reviews on publications concerning contemporary history), Biographical Collection.
